Symi has no reputation as a cosmopolitan island and does not compete with islands such as Mykonos and Santorini, known for their nightlife and expensive hotels. Of course, this does not mean that famous actors, politicians, ship owners or models are not present on the island, on the contrary, Symi is chosen by all who do not want to attract the attention of others and prefer an authentic holiday experience.
This is evidenced in the summer by the numerous yachts docking at the port of Symi. George Bush, the oldest, visited the island twice, but also Berlusconi, the latter when he was prime minister, and even the media claimed that he wanted to buy a house on the island. Among the noblemen who were here are the Jordanian princess Rania and the Danish Mary. Among the actors, the Turk Kenan Imirzaloglu, Salma Hayek, who has made a family vacation and Michael Douglas with Catherine Zeta-Jones. The couple visited the island with Mary Jean II, a luxury yacht.
The famous Chilean writer Isabel Allende visited the island and was thrilled with the rounds with the Vespa on the island. Turkan Soray, a famous actress from Turkey, was back with her daughter on Symi and enjoyed her vacation. She especially loves the island and thinks about buying a house to visit it more often.
